A converted chicken coop on the Big Heart Ranch property allows over-night stays for horse boarders and horse lovers. The little bunkhouse (aka chicken coop) is equipped with electricity which allows air-conditioning in the summer months and electric heat in the colder months. Although rustic, it’s very cozy and comfortable.
A twin day bed and blow-up cot is ready for a two-person stay. The bunkhouse is equipped with a microwave, coffee-maker, and refrigerator. There is no indoor plumbing, but the farm house door is always open with access to a modern bathroom with tub & shower. Cool summer nights and warm fall evenings are great for sitting around the Big Heart campfire, roasting hot dogs & marsh mellows while viewing the star-lit sky.
Our over-night stays are only $35/night with a country breakfast and unlimited Wi-Fi included. Meals are prepared and served in a 150-year old farm-house by its owners, Bill & Wende Corbett.
Big Heart Ranch is adjacent to the Galena Territory which boasts over 40 miles of groomed trails. Daily and seasonal trail use can be purchased from the Shenandoah Riding Center if riding your own mount or you can book trail rides using the trail horses at the riding center.
Not a horse-owner, but love horses? Come stay with us and we will teach you to be comfortable around horses learning how to groom them, halter them, pick hooves, and lead them. Children can enjoy lead line rides or just pet and praise them.
